Our next planning meeting is scheduled for Friday, February 28 at Black Caddis Ranch. On the agenda are the committee reports with regards to fund raising, music, vendors, advertising, facilities, camping, monitoring, kids' activities, environmental education and volunteers. We are looking for sponsors and representation from associated interest groups including, (but not limited to) Allegheny Defense Project, Allegany State Park, Trout Unlimited, Sierra Club, North Country Trail, Patagonia, community organizations and local sportsmen's clubs. This blog will keep you informed about the plans for the annual PA Firefly Festival and the Firefly Seasonal Events. The PAFF festival and sponsored events celebrate and monitor the annual mating displays of over fifteen different species of fireflies in the Allegheny National Forest area including the Synchronous Firefly and the "Chinese Lantern" species.
